The Art Day Project: Workshops
Wednesday, November 20 - Saturday, November 23
The Textile Museum of Canada is pleased to present Creative Matters • The Art Day Project, a partnership to celebrate and demystify the art of rug design and fair trade weaving.
Join Creative Matters designers for an interactive two-hour session of creative mark-making exercises inspired by objects and imagery from the TMC’s exhibition Telling Stories. Creative Matters will incorporate artwork created by workshop participants into original rug designs entered into the firm’s first-ever Art Day competition. The winning design will be hand woven by artisans in Nepal, and the winning rug will be donated to Label STEP, a not-for-profit organization that encourages fair trade within the carpet industry. Watch it happen at www.creativemattersinc.blogspot.ca
