Circle Study #8
Textile

Marilyn Clarke’s work is characterized by the use of line and shading which bears a painterly approach to working with textiles. Darker threads emphasize shapes and lighter threads romp across the surface to instill movement. Themes range from liturgical symbols to geometric and non-representational pieces to explorations of land, water, sky and figure. Current exhibition; The New Line; An Exploration of Art Nouveau and Beyond Homer Watson House and Gallery Kitchener; until Nov 1, 2009.
