Beading Workshop with Naomi Smith

Date: October 01, 2016
Time: 10 am - 4 pm

During the Victorian period the strawberry, a plant with special significance to many First Nations communities, inspired Indigenous beading – often taking the form of the ubiquitous sewing emery (pin cushion). Learn raised and embossed beading techniques firsthand by creating your own with artist and educator Naomi Smith (Neyaashiinigmiing, ON), who will share stories and traditions from a First Nations perspective.
