Time and Place:
A workshop inspired by the exhibition
'Sheila Hicks: Material Voices'

Co-Presented by the Textile Museum of Canada and the Contemporary Textile Studio Co-op
Friday October 14, 6:30 - 8 pm & Sunday October 16, 10 am - 4 pm

Explore ideas and techniques found in the textile work of Sheila Hicks. After an exhibition tour, take a brief city walk to observe, draw and photograph your urban surroundings, then return to the studio to translate your findings through techniques such as wrapping, twisting and binding. Participants will transform ordinary materials, working with colour-blending to create a small series of forms and objects informed by Hicks’ ideas and method of working. This workshop takes place at both the TMC and the CTS (401 Richmond Street West, Toronto). All levels of experience are welcome.

Advance registration is required, class size is limited.
TMC Members $120, Non-members $130, Students $90
