Jacket

Short, fitted jackets were fashionable for men and women in 19th century Greece. The loose sleeves allow the wearer to move freely while dancing. Such jackets are characterized by gold embroidery on a dark velvet ground. Embroidering with metal thread is a long tradition in Greece that was profoundly influenced by centuries of Ottoman rule.

I would pair this jacket with a black turtleneck and long black fitted skirt. I would probably wear this at a fashion show.
