Souvenir pillow

This souvenir pillow from the small town of Cabri, Saskatchewan reads “Souvenir of Saskatchewan, Canada, 50 Years of Progress 1905-1955.” The 50 years commemorate Saskatchewan's designation as a province independent of the Northwest Territories. As the growing middle class pursued travel in the late 19th century, souvenir pillows became popular trip mementos.

Why did Saskatchewan become its own province in 1905?

I did a little research on the internet and found a common response to why Saskatchewan became a province. Like most new provinces at the time, the government will provide funding and may distribute loans. I think this was the case with Saskatchewan. With the increase in settlers and born citizens and the infrastructure in response to the growth in population, Saskatchewan will receive the financial support from the government.
